Description
Starting at the park shelter, you'll follow the Nature Trail signs into the forest. The first quarter mile follows the disc golf course through the woods. After about one half mile, the trail turns to the right along the edge of the soccer fields before turning to the right again. You'll pass a few trails that take you out to the soccer fields. Ignore these and stay on the main trail.
Eventually, the trail will wrap back around and away from the soccer fields and deeper into the woods. You'll follow a fence line that separates the park from the private property nearby.
Stay on the main trail until you break out into the clearing at the end. Turn left and head back to the shelter or do the loop again!
In the first half mile or so, there are three trails that you can choose to take that will cut-off the distance of the trail.
Be sure to pay attention to the signs as you go. There are a total of seven of them along the route, each telling you about the different trees within the forest.
Flora & Fauna
Keep an eye open for squirrels, wild turkeys, and white tail deer. There are also many different varieties of trees including White Pak, Oak, Maple, Hickory, Cottonwood, Sycamore, and Ash.
