In August and September, this trail is lined with blueberries. Enjoy some sweet berries while you hike and take in the views!
Closed in winter. Closed to biking.
Description
This is a nice, short trail on the northern end of Wonder Lake. Take the bus to the north end of Wonder Lake and find the trailhead at the base of the hill, at the section of road built over the lake inlet. You can either start the trail at the Park Road Causeway or at the Wonder Lake Ranger Station.
Along the way, expect beautiful views of Denali (weather permitting) as the trail meanders through alpine tundra and spruce forest. The Park Service does a good job maintaining this gravel trail. There are two short plank bridges to avoid soggy areas of tundra. The trail can be muddy after rain, so plan accordingly.
Flora & Fauna
Just like its name suggest, the hill is graced with blueberries in the fall.
