Description

This is a great trail that connects the Highline Canal Trail to the South Platte River Trail. While it is the most popular for cyclists, some portions offer some great urban hiking. The best portion of trail is the section traveling through Aurora near the Anschutz Medical Campus. From here you can access the Bluff Lake Trail and the Star K Ranch Loop.

There is some construction occurring around this trail, and the detours are poorly or incorrectly marked. Note that near the light rail and the Stapleton Park and Ride, you need to travel beneath Smith Rd and Central Park Blvd (10/15). As long as you stay near Sand Creek, you'll remain on the main trail.
