Description

This short loop located off of Mesa Top Ruins Rd. gives visitors a glimpse into the life of the Ancestral Pueblo people who lived in this area for about 200 years prior to even beginning construction on the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings. A densely populated area from from A.D. 900 to about A.D. 1300, nearly 50 villages have been uncovered in the area, which were home to hundreds of people. Today, visitors can take their time exploring sites like the Far View House, Pipe Shrine House, Coyote Village, Far View Reservoir, Megalithic House, and Far View Tower along this trail.
