This Kris-Mar Woods trail begins off of Hillcrest Dr. by a small parking area with a picnic table. After following the sign, the Upper Frontier travels mostly uphill and several switchbacks before circling around and heading back down, overlapping with the Frontier Loop Trail for the second half. During the colder months, when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the geography of the rolling Appalachian foothills as you travel along the trail.
