It's best to access this trail from the Signal Hill Picnic area. Take the Signal Hill trail north from the picnic area. Feel free to take a quick side trip to see petroglyphs. You'll see a trail sign for the Manville trail on the left. From this point, the Manville trail heads west. At the start, the trail is in a wash. Shortly before the wash dead-ends into Sandario Road, the trail heads north and parallels the road instead. The trail offers wonderful view of desert life, but much of the trail closely follows Sandario Road and there is plenty of road noise from all the cars.

Also, please be aware the trail connects to Sandario Road in two places, but there is no trailhead parking along Sandario Road. If you wish to start this trail along Sandario Road, and make your way to the Signal Hill picnic area, you'll be parking your car on a dirt shoulder of a busy road, which is not recommended.

Desert flora and fauna abound, and you'll see many types of cacti.
