Description

After climbing up the Panorama Trail from the top of Nevada Falls, the Mono Meadow Cutoff breaks off and heads south. This trail rolls south over open and sparsely treed hills with views of domes jutting up from the landscape. Parts of this area are slowly recovering from fires that have left burnt snags standing as sentinels watching hikers pass by. After 3 easy miles, the trail connects to the Illiouette Creek Trail witch is a great path to take the hiker far from populated areas and deep into the wilderness of southern Yosemite.
