Description
From the intersection with the Cowley Canyon/Herd Hollow Road (FR 047), the road ascends and passes by a couple of springs. Soon after, it reaches an intersection with the
Richards Hollow 019G trail, and from here the trail affords great views of The Elbow area and the surrounding forests.
Continuing along, the road skirts around The Elbow from above, and soon passes the junction to the
Card Canyon East trail (which goes off to the right and drops down Card Canyon). From here, the road continues and gives great views of the ponds that form in the upper end of Richards Hollow, as well as the beautiful conifer forests all around. Soon, it passes the intersection with FR 151, which takes you down to
Card Canyon West, and shortly thereafter splits into two roads.
The main road, which continues up the mountainside is FR 168 which goes up to Logan Peak and the Providence Canyon, Millville Canyon areas. The fork to the left is the continuation of the Adams Corral FR 052 road, which soon passes another trail that goes down to Richards Hollow, and then eventually ends at Adams Corral. Near the corral is another trail that splits off and goes to Providence Cave, a great cave for spelunking that plenty of local spelunkers explore.
