Description

This trail starts about 50 yards upslope of the last uphill building of the Big Trees Lodge (called Moore Cottage). There is a sign that says "Two Hour Ride Trail." Horses are allowed on this trail.

Climb up past the water tank and away from Wawona on a forested ridgeline. At about 1 mile, the trail intersects with Bills Hill Trail heading left (north). Stay straight heading east to surmount Bill's Hill and arrive at a small saddle. Here is where the other end of Bills Hill ends. Keep to the right to stay on the Wawona Trail where it approaches Wawona Road. Continue uphill steadily, grinding through several steep, short, sections. There are not any true viewpoints along this trail despite its substantial elevation gain. After a final series of switchbacks, the Wawona Trail ends at a T-junction with the Outer Loop Trail, just west of Mariposa Grove.
