The trail connecting the two campgrounds is open anytime that the Baker Creek road is open.

Description

The Grey Cliffs - Baker Creek Campground Trail is a little over a half a mile and connects the two campgrounds on Baker Creek Road. The trail departs from the end of the C Loop in the Grey Cliffs Campground and climbs gently uphill toward the Baker Creek Campground. The trail is a singletrack dirt trail with some rock obstacles in it. The trail has views of Doso Doyabi as it wanders along Baker Creek. The grey cliffs can be seen off to the left hand side of the trail.

It crosses Baker Creek on a wooden boardwalk in order to preserve the area and prevent you from having to hike on wet ground. As the trail approaches Baker Creek Campground, a field opens up on the left hand side where animals can be seen feeding in the evenings. After the trail passes the field, it enters the Baker Creek Campground near the walk-in sites 29-32. From here, you can continue through the campground and make your way up to the trailhead for a variety of trails or you can turn around and make your way back to Grey Cliffs.

Flora & Fauna

Deer can be seen feeding in the meadows right below the Baker Creek Campground area in the mornings or evenings. Wildflowers can be seen blooming along the trail in the spring time (July). Birch trees can be seen throughout the hike.
