Description

From the junction with the June Creek Trail climb steadily up winding, gentle switchbacks. Many of the corners are bermed for mountain bikers, but plenty of people hike this trail too.

Upon reaching the ridge, enjoy the views of Beaver Creek ski area, the golf courses and valley around Avon. This is dry, scrubby landscape. Plunge off the southern end of the ridge and descend through long switchbacks to reach the intersection with the Avon Singletree Connector ASC. Here the Wild West Ridge Trail ends, but it is easy to continue west on the ASC trail to reach the neighborhoods and form a loop.

Bikes are allowed on the Wild West Ridge Trail, so keep an ear out for them.

Flora & Fauna

Sage, pinyon, cactus, cedar, scrub. Some drought-tolerant wildflowers. Hawks.
