Description
Although this is more of a functional trail, linking the southern part of the
Under-the-Rim Trail with the main park road at Ponderosa Point, it does have nice scenery. From the parking lot, surmount a short hill via switchbacks and enjoy broad views up and down the rim.
Duck into a more wooded area for the gradual descent off the plateau. After navigating a series of steep switchbacks to pass the pink limestone cliffs, head down the ridge that forms the southern edge of Agua Canyon. You'll arrive at a junction with the
Under-the-Rim Trail at approximately 17 miles from where it started at
Bryce Point.
From this junction, enjoy views north of multicolored Agua Canyon and Natural Bridge. Rainbow Point is above the skyline to the south.
Flora & Fauna
Ponderosa pines on the canyon floor. White fir, blue spruce and Douglas fir near the rim.
