From the Kishenehn Patrol Cabin, this trail works its way northeast along Kishenehn Creek. This mostly level trail is very well-maintained most likely due to its interest by the park service and border patrol to unauthorized travel.

The trail spends most of its time in a pleasant forest with stretches through old stands of wonderful trees. Many sections are open and airy as you get closer to the border with some beautiful meadows opening up.

After a little over four miles, you come to the large swath cut through the trees at the Canada/US Border.

Mix of burned and unburned forest gives a variety of plants from fireweed and geraniums to arnica and dogwood. Small birds and mammals are common as well as the occasional bear, elk, and very rarely, wolf.
