Description
This trail extends from the junction of the trail that goes to the
Ptarmigan Tunnel to the Belly River Ranger Station. After leaving the
Ptarmigan Trail, you cross over the Belly River on a swinging footbridge. The trail wanders through a pleasant forest with a few sections right along the river. This is a beautiful forest that houses a variety of wildlife and birds. The trail gives intermittent views of the surrounding peaks until you enter the large meadows surrounding the Belly River Ranger Station. The peaks are nothing short of breathtaking. The meadows pop with flowers in the spring and turn golden in late summer. The trail leads to the historic and active ranger station with a corral beneath a picturesque setting.
It's recommended that you bring bear spray.
