Family Friendly Check out the National Parks Mounted Patrol Stable and the Tennessee Valley Natural Plant Nursery. There are volunteer opportunities for both agencies. Picnic or wonder around.

Description

This short trail leads to the National Park Service Mounted Patrol Stables and the Tennessee Valley Native Plant Nursery. This is the half way point on the way to the Tennessee Valley Beach. There is also a bench where the Chaparrel Trail leads off the Tennessee Valley Trail.

You'll find a bathroom and a couple of tables there to rest or share a picnic. The stables and the corral will have a few horses hanging out, stop and greet them.

Be on the look out for the mounted patrol, they may be saddling up or returning from duty. Volunteers are part of the partol and the nursery project as well.

Flora & Fauna

Horse and wild plants in the corral and nursery.
