Description

This is an excellent hilly route for training or a good challenge. The hills are significant for southern Wisconsin standards, the views are beautiful, and this place, while close to Madison, feels quite secluded. Upper midwest types of wildlife are abundant here. However, a sunbathing alligator of local fame can be found by the astute hiker.

Very scenic with rolling hills and prairie views. We saw deer and a raccoon that climbed a tree. 4.4mi — 1h 45m

Nice easy trail, but the mosquitoes were unreal. Will be a nice trail after the frost. We went almost to the end of the section and back. 4.2mi

A little muggy and lots of gnats today, but made for a perfect 4th of July hike! 4.5mi

Muddy conditions but unseasonably warm and lovely day. Continuing the tradition of doing a hike on (or around) Liz's birthday. 5mi
