Description
From the east trailhead, travel uphill along the road with steep embankments on either side. After half a mile, you break out of the thick Douglas fir forest at the top of the hill and begin down the other side as the landscape transitions to oak savannah.
After a little more than a mile, you'll see the Cardwell Fitton Green Connection Trail (on an old gravel road) and a sign board with faded maps. Continuing the road grade becomes more gentle and at mile 2 another un-named trail/road exits on the left. Shortly after this the trail turns towards the north as Mary's River becomes visible and continues upstream until the trailhead close to the town of Wren.
Flora & Fauna
Runs through Douglas fir forests and more open oak. Off the trail are open grassy areas and the ubiquitous poison oak. You may see deer, or even osprey down by the Mary's River.
