Description

From town, start the McClintock Lower Trail either from Bellevue Drive or from the parking area south of the Chautauqua Auditorium. Head uphill through a grove of cottonwood and willow, paralleling Bluebell Creek. The grade is pretty gentle here and the trail is wide. The McClintock Lower Trail ends at a 4-way junction with the road-like Enchanted Mesa Trail going roughly east-west and the narrower McClintock Upper Trail leading straight ahead.

Historical note: the McClintock Trails were named after the Chautauqua Park board member (Henry McClintock) whose family donated funds for interpretive trail signage.
