Description
This trail is similar in both directions. It crosses itself at the only intersection, so just pay attention to the way you originally came in from to make sure you exit the other end.
From the start point as listed on the map - as you enter the path starts to go steeply downhill. After about a half mile, there should be a 4-way intersection. Head right along the trout stream. The trail swings to the north and eventually comes back south and crosses the stream shortly before coming in sight of HWY 21. Then, there's a climb up and over a stair-covered hill.
Once down the stairs, the trail takes a sharp turn back to the north and crosses Trout Brook again, continuing along it for about a half mile until taking you back to the intersection. Take a right, and head nearly straight up the hill back to the
Prairie Loop.
Flora & Fauna
Birds, deer, and, of course, trout can all be seen on this trail. Lots of aspen, birch, and oak create a canopy that keeps it well shaded. Patches of wildflowers can be found on the hillsides and in some of the small, narrow openings in the trees.
