Head down quickly into a low spot between the lake and the rail, and then a gentle climb up to the south where you'll see a park bench and another trail going off to the Ostrum Trail Parking. At this point, take a hard turn to the north and head back along the high side of the prairie to see where this trail gets its name.

Near the end, you'll go back down into a low spot and do one last quick ascent.

Birds constantly dart in and out of the grasses, and beaver leave their mark in the form of lodges and gnawed on trees.
