The trail may detour onto the road for short segments due to trail damage.

Description

Follow the seafront walkway to the trailhead near the northwest end of the beach, near the statue "il gigante." The trail joins with the road in several segments for the first 1/3, then the final 2/3 is a mix of stairs and singletrack until the intersection with Trail N. 591. From here there is a panoramic view of the Cinque Terre coastline.

Just before the intersection with Trail N. 591, an offshoot trail leads to the ruins of Sant'Antonio, a small church dating back to 1380, and a panoramic viewpoint.

Flora & Fauna

Pines, holm oak, arbutus and Mediterranean scrub.

Looking down at the beaches of Monterosso. The descent is steep... starting as a trail and quickly becoming steps.

Trail beginning in Monterosso al Mare was moved up the street but signage was easy to follow. Trail is up a steep grade. Excellent view 1.1mi
