Description

This is a nice connector trail from the Winsor National Recreation Trail to Aspen Vista along the creek in many places. There is generally water flowing all summer. The tread is mostly nice hardpack dirt sprinkled with pine duff and aspen leaves. There are a few rocks sticking up and an easy stream crossing or two.

From the Aspen Vista Road, the trail has been cleared recently of hundreds of deadfall trees and is now open to the top of the ski basin. This section of the trail climbs steeply over rocks and roots through the drainage. The tread is combinations of loose gravel, Aspen leaf litter and bedrock outcroppings. It runs mostly straight uphill with little switchback relief. A really good challenge.
