Overview

There are several options available in this area, and hikers can change the route to be as strenuous/technical you want your hike to be, as well as to where to start. There's a great mix of singletrack, packed dirt trails and dirt roads, and nice viewpoints sprinkled along the way keep things interesting.

Description

Options for parking: Citrus Ranch Park (Portola Parkway and Tustin Ranch Road), Peters Canyon Elementary School both towards the southern trailhead. Or the regional park parking lot off Canyon View Ave for the northern trailhead.

As mapped here, the eastern portion of the southern loop is very strenuous (and a great workout). For a modified version, one can stay on the eastern part of the bottom loop to get to the lake loop and then follow back the way one came from. If you start at Citrus Ranch Park, that is approximately a 7-7.5 mile loop.

Lots of flora. Lots of bugs. Very into rain which was a lot of fun and can be mixed up into a variety of different hikes. 6.5mi — 2h 09m
