Description

The Peninsula Trail in Lake Hope State Park is an easy loop trail along the shores of Lake Hope. It's a great alternative to the crowds of Hocking Hills. Parking is located approx 50 yards from the trailhead, near Hope Furnace.

Starting from the trailhead, across from the Zaleski Backpack Trail South Loop trailhead, you'll enter the forest and wind along the shores of the lake. The trail remains generally level with some minor changes in elevation. After reaching the intersection with Park Rd 1 - cross the road and look for the trail again off to the right.

The Peninsula Trail is very close to the edge of the hill; luckily the drop is only 20 feet and falls into the lake
