Description

This trail begins at the Trapps Bridge over US-44/NY-55. From the West Trapps parking lot side of the bridge, cross the bridge and keep straight on the trail. You'll see a small parking area and a small trail to the now defunct "Camp Slime". Continue straight on the trail. You'll see a variety of trails departing on the left and right. These include Millbrook Ridge Trail (blue blazes), Bayards Path (red blazes), and Coxing Trail (light blue blazes).

The trail gradually descends to Coxing Kill, then crosses on a wooden bridge. After crossing a second stream, it rises with a brief but steep incline. The trail continues along US-44/NY-55 and dead ends into Lyons Road. This is the point at which you leave Mohonk Preserve and enter Minnewaska State Park.

Along the path, you'll have a really nice view of Lost City (also known as Dickie Barr Wilderness Area). It has some prominent cliff lines and nice contours to enjoy visually from this trail.
