Description

Lane Cove trail is a one-way, out-and-back that drops steeply from the Greenstone Ridge Trail and leads to the Lane Cove campsites. After dropping sharply through the old-growth forest, you'll hike through some swampy marshes, crossing over thin boardwalks, before reaching the Lane Cove campground.

The campsites are along the shoreline and offer awesome views of the cove, near-shore islands, and on a clear day - you can see Thunder Bay, Canada in the distance (roughly 12 miles away). Pit Toilets available and filterable water is available in the cove... cold, clear Lake Superior water.

There's only one-way in and one-way out, so lace up those boots for the steep climb out in the morning!

Enjoyable side hike off to Lane Cove campground on the north side of the island. Many ups and downs, but mainly down. Rewarding. 2.4mi
