Description

Trailhead: Exit the I-5 at Christanitos Rd. Head inland (east) for about 50 ft to the first left on El Camino Real. The parking is on the right. The trail is across Christanitos Rd from the parking.

Trestles Beach is a famous surfing spot and a nice scenic point on this hike. The parking area is near the middle of the trail, so pick a direction and make a loop of it. As a loop, this is a nice 3 miler if you are pinched for time. There are several steep hills that are good for repeats. The trail is mostly compacted sand, so watch your footing on the descents. The trail from the I-5 to the beach is old pavement.
