Description
The Spring Trail starts from Oakhurst Drive and almost immediately crosses
Rainbow Loop Trail, meeting it again at the top of the hill just after its intersection with
Wild Trail.
The best way to experience Spring Trail is from a culdesac at the end of Oakhurst Drive at the base of
Rainbow Mountain. From this starting point you climb to the top of mountain gaining 250 feet in just 0.4 miles. The majority of this 0.4-mile climb is spent parallel to an ephemeral creek bed with slabs of rock that produce beautiful waterfalls after it rains.
The first 10th of a mile is very easy with very little elevation gain and few rocks to worry about. This is where the Spring Trail intersects the
Rainbow Loop Trail and you start an aggressive climb up
Rainbow Mountain. The creek bed will be on your right as you make your way to the top. It is very steep with a lot of rocks requiring technical hiking skills. Just before the top of
Rainbow Mountain it intersects
Wild Trail and then terminates when it again meets
Rainbow Loop Trail.
