Although the hiking is straightforward on this section, it allows hikers to head back up north without using highway 93.

The southern end starts at a trailhead just off highway 93 and highway 128. Connect here with the Greenbelt Connector if you want to continue across to the western part of the Marshall Mesa trail system.

On the northern end, either branch ends up at the Community Ditch trail - stay left to meet up with that trail at highway 93 or stay right (as marked) to meet up by the more interesting rocky steps.
