Description
From the trailhead, you'll climb heading north, the start is steep and has a few technical spots. After that the trail turns into rollers for about a mile, the trail has a lot of rocks on it with a few firm packed spots.
There is a small trail marker that indicates the trail heads west making a left turn heading into the switchbacks. The trail switches back and forth between rocky sections and hard-pack and continues to climb for the next mile and a quarter. It then merges with a dirt road for a 0.2-mile climb to the first set of radio towers.
The downhill commences at this point. The top of the trail has a lot of rocks before giving way to loose dirt combined with hard-pack and some ruts. There is a short climb near the end followed by more downhill over varied terrain, with some rocks thrown in for good measure. The trail then levels out into on open field where you can keep pushing along until you reach the park. At this point, the trail goes from hard-pack to paved.
Flora & Fauna
The occasional spider or snake can be seen on the trail. Likely to spot a deer in the cooler months.
