Description

This is a very short side trail off the Coal Nyack Loop to access campsites at Beaver and Buffalo Woman Lakes. Although short in length, this trail is long in views. Towering over the lake are Eaglehead, Pinchot, and Stimson mountains - of which, Stimson is one of only a half dozen 10,000+ foot peaks in all of Glacier.

The camping at the lakes proves as great jumping off points for a summit bid on Mount Stimson. If you're an intrepid peak-bagger, a jaunt to Pinchot at the same time can be added in. Once you've had your high-altitude fill, descend back to camp, lie back, kick up your feet and take in the solitude of this very remote area of Glacier.
