Description

A wonderfully wooded trail along the ever-present Little Carp River that connects the South Boundary Road of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park with Mirror Lake. This gently ascending/descending trail gets hikers deep into the wilderness and gives a glimpse at long distance hiking as it crosses over the 4,000+ mile North Country National Scenic Trail.

The Upper Midwestern United States isn't home to many vast swaths of wilderness so the Porkies are a real gem. This section is particularly deep into the middle of this zone, and about as deep as a hiker can get. The woods, water, and wildlife found here are worthy of the work required to experience it.

There is plenty of quality camping, backcountry lakes, fishing, bird and wildlife options abound as you make your way along quality trail tread past some of the finest scenery the Midwest has to offer.
