Description

Elk Meadows Trail is one of the first trails built on Bogus and is still a great hike. From the Deer Point Trail, climb a number of switchbacks with some rock features along the way. You'll eventually leave the switchbacks, break out of the trees and be presented with amazing views across the mountains. On a clear day, you can see the Sawtooths off in the distance.

From here the trail descends across some meadows and then back into the trees. There is one more brisk climb where trail traverses underneath Superior Lift and around the backside of the resort. The trail then comes to an end on an old cat track. From here, you have the option to continue on to the lodge, or you can connect to the Around the Mountain trail by heading down the cat track.
