This route is closed from November to March since it is situated in Wildlife winter range. Please check the Avimor Site ahead of time for the most up to date closures during that time period.

The trail ends at Private Property, so please turn around - this trail can currently only be used as an out and back.

Description

The area can be host to bovine grazing activities, so be aware to stay on the main trail and not venture onto faint side trails.

Other than faint side trails, most of this trail is pretty easy to follow as long as you stay along the creek. About a 1/4 of the way into this trail, you'll cross a road that will take you to a ridge. From this point, you are committed to the trail until you reach Sheep Rock. When you reach the top and start working along the ridge to get to Sheep Rock you'll come across private property to the south, so please remain on the trail. Once the trail makes its way out of the creek bottom you'll head across a fairly open ridge out to Sheep Rock. Additional signage will be installed at the top of this trail in 2015 to help direct traffic in the right direction.

This trail is great due to the singletrack and its backcountry feel. If you are looking for manicured trails, then this hike is one you should skip. In the spring this trail will involve a lot of creek crossings, so be prepared to get your feet wet. This is part of the fun of exploring!
