Description

This trail starts near the bottom of Nun's Curve on the ski basin road (NM475) just past the bridge over Little Tesuque Creek. Park in the wide spots along the road. The trail heads northerly along the seasonal creek. There is a large conglomerate rock outcropping a minute or two down the trail. Singletrack is being built to bypass the soggy areas.

Follow the easy-to-find trail along the stream bed, resisting the temptation to take trails climbing up the hill to the right, to the property boundary and gate. Beyond this gate is private property; either turn around and go back the way you came or take one of the branching trails (Dale Ball Trail system and Windsor Trail can be reached from these branching trails). At this spot, the La Piedra trail climbs the steep southern hillside.

Flora & Fauna
