Description

10 Mile is a dirt road that is frequently used to access South Rim Trail and Guardian Trail, as well as Big Chico Creek, the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve and HWY 32. There is a parking area at the top of the road off of HWY 32.

From HWY 32, 10 Mile House Trail descends along the northern intersection of multiple trails. In succession, users will encounter Guardian Trail followed by South Rim Trail there is a short connector trail that drops down to the creek. Crossing the creek at this point will take one to the main park road along the north side. Following 10 Mile House to its terminus will take one to a gate at the entrance to the ecological reserve. Hiking is permitted in the reserve, which is managed by CSU Chico. They ask that you sign in on a book at the gate so they can monitor trail usage.
