Description
Teacup is best travelled from west to east to take advantage of the descent towards Soldier Pass. The trail starts at the end of Little Elf Drive and climbs towards Capitol Butte past Sugarloaf Mountain.
Turning east, Teacup continue to gradually climb, twisting and turning towards open views of Brins Mesa and Mormon Canyon. Teacup then levels out into a big open area just after the intersection on the far end of Sugarloaf Loop.
Take in the view before you start the descent. There are a few switchbacks to navigate at first before the trail drops down into the trees and scrub to a giant slickrock bowl.
Coffeepot Rock rises higher above you as you get closer to its base. From here you'll negotiate several rocky steps while traversing the lower edge.
As you round the corner you'll be sandwiched between the mountain and a cluster of houses before the last rocky and rooty descent to Soldier Pass Road.
At the end of the trail, you can turn left and hike up the road to the Seven Sacred Pools or pedal a quick right and left to access
Jordan Trail.
