Description

The Spiro Trail is one of the most popular ways to get from town into the hills. To reach the start of Spiro, either take the Silver Spur trail from the ski area base or head through the golf course neighborhood to where the trail hits Crescent Road.

This multi-use trail gets a lot of downhill mountain bike traffic in the summer, so if you're trying to avoid other users, hike early or late in the day. The trail itself is a lovely trek at a consistent grade uphill through aspens and clumps of wildflowers. The numerous early switchbacks provide views galore. You'll cross so many ski runs, and part of the navigational enjoyment is to orient yourself to where you ski in the winter months.
