Dogs Leashed
Family Friendly
The trail is safe easy walking with various access points from Brown Creek Campground. Side tracks lead into the pond but be careful not to step off what looks like solid ground into the water.
Description
This easy (though not absolutely flat), shady trail circles an overgrown pond. Interpretive signs speak of the springs and beavers that formed the wetlands. Well-placed benches offer peaceful opportunities for viewing, contemplating or reading.
Flora & Fauna
Large bigleaf maples provide homes for luxurious mosses, lichens, ferns, birds and bats. Typical Pacific Northwest natives too numerous to name include red alder, sword fern, and Oregon grape. Beavers built these wetlands and it sounds as though they remain in the area.
