Description

Starting from the Muddy Hollow Trailhead, travel southwest and gently downhill. The middle part of this trail was realigned in 2011 to avoid the valley's floodplain, and now contours along a the base of a hillside. Pass two bird-filled ponds on your way to the ocean. This trail can be used in either direction and is best attempted in summer and fall when the trail is dry. In winter and spring it can become impassable. Note: bikes are not allowed on this trail.

Flora & Fauna

Shore birds, song birds, rabbits, fox, coyote, bobcat. Some of the tule elk herd from Tomales Point have been relocated to this part of the seashore.
