Description

The Lake Nanita Trail begins at a junction with North Inlet Trail about 8 miles up from the North Inlet Trail. Heading south, Lake Nanita Trail climbs along North Inlet creek before quickly crossing it via an elevated bridge. There are some nice falls to view at this crossing.

A little after the 3/4 mile mark, the trail turns southwestward and begins climbing through a series of switchbacks on the southern flank of Ptarmigan Mountain. Following the switchbacks, the trail passes by the remote Lake Nokoni. Continue southward for another 1.3 miles from Lake Nokoni, over a ridge and down to Lake Nanita. From here, the views of Ptarmigan Mountain are fantastic.
