Description

It's original namesake was utilized as a way over into Idahos Teton Basin, but now connects Jackass Pass to the USFS trails to the west. Conant Pass is extremely remote and is known by Park Rangers as having "one grizzly bear for each mile of trail.

Conant Pass, basin, creek and trail were named for Al Conant, a homesteader living west of the Tetons. Beaver Dick Leigh claimed that in 1865, Conant came close to drowning in the creek named after him.
