Description

Alaska Basin Shelf is a northerly continuation of the Alaska Basin Trail heading to a junction with the Teton Crest Trail - North. If you're looking to enter Alaska Basin, don't take this trail. The Shelf hangs above the Basin and provides great wildflower views.

Camping is permitted anywhere more than 200 ft away from lakes, though no open fires are allowed. The Shelf is oftentimes used by climbers attempting to ascend Veiled Peak (11,330').
