Poison Ivy tends to thrive near the swamp areas here. Be on the lookout.

Description

Starting from Orange Access Trail - West after a little less than a mile, the trail curves right and comes to an intersection. Bear right, sticking with the green blazes, as the path draws you closer to the pond.

Find a rock to sit on near the water. You may be able to observe some water-based wildlife such as swans or beavers among the lilies.

The trail continues inland across an old stonewall and passes through a large field full of tall grass. Shortly after, the trail becomes heavily forested and is followed by a smaller field, with the Ned's Mountain parking lot just ahead.
