Strolling through the high meadows towards Mt. Morkill, 7,500 ft. (center), on a perfect September morning. Mt. Morkill and the ridge on the right, are all part of the Great Divide.
Expansive, relatively flat, grassy meadows, a rarity in the mountains here. These meadows are just south of Morkill Pass Campground.
Mt. Sprague, 8,301 ft., in the distance to the north.
A plaque with sage advice, was put in this cairn 20 years ago by the Willmore Wilderness Wanderers, a group of likeminded hikers of the Willmore Wilderness.
On top of the world, well, on top of the Mt. Morkill southwest col. The Mt. Morkill summit, on the Great Divide, is nearby, out of the photo on the right.
Mountains and valleys to the north of Mt. Morkill, are seen from the Mt. Morkill southwest col just below Mt. Morkill's summit.
