Cresting the pass between Jackpine Mountain and an unnamed peak to the northwest, views of the rugged mountains and glaciers to the northeast come into view, including Mt. Lucifer, 10,040 ft., (center).
Limestone silt gives a small alpine stream its white color, in the picturesque alpine meadows, with their green grass, bushes, and wildflowers.
