The trail climbs steadily up the ridge. Its a gradual climb that offers fantastic views, even on a smoky day.

Even in July, wildfires are blooming at the higher elevations. The trail descends through fields and forests at this point.
Sometimes you have to share the trail with the animals, as you can see as these bison use the trail to come down the hill. Give them a wide berth, or wait for them to clear before continuing.
