Views of the High Peaks and Balconies Cliffs spread out before you. It is a great place to enjoy sweeping, panoramic views of the area.
The Jawbone Trail descends to the right and you can see the North Chalone fire tower off in the distance.

The trail narrows if you follow it straight ahead. It is man made, so it is easy traveling and well groomed.
Information on the Lyons Homestead, a family that lived in the area in the early 1900s, sits beside the trail.
There is some shade underneath the trees along portions of the trail. You can also see the Spanish moss hanging in the trees.
