Up on moraine ridge, straight north of Lake Vernon
There are many of these pools along Falls Creek in Jack Main Canyon.
Peninsula Lake and Haystack Peak soak up the sun in the early evening. What looks like the opposite shore is really a long peninsula in the center of the lake.
Big Island Lake is a beautiful lake that is very remote and little visited.
Bear Lake and Haystack Peak pose in the noonday sun. This very remote lake is one of my favorites.
The trail to Jack Main Canyon can be beautiful, but beware of the mosquitoes. They can be terrible over a few of the miles.
