The view on the trail is amazing. You can see into Mexico for miles. It's stunning.
Orange ocotillo
The trail is narrow and grasses encroach on the trail, so even though it is hot, pants are recommended to help protect your legs.
The trail climbs gently along the hillside to a gap in the ridge where the trail meets up with the Joe's Canyon Trail.
You can see the trail as it works its way along the hillside above you at this point.
The trail winds uphill from the border. You can tell there isn't much shade by the lack of trees.
